KTM Duke 200

The DUKE 200 a product of KTM. Back by the rich legacy of building top notch performance machine KTM is the largest European motorcycle manufacturer, with an expanded customer KTM entered competative Indian market through a partnership with Bajaj. The first product Duke 200 is a street bike like any other in the country.

The duke was designed with the emphasis using a lightweight body parts.The plastic body parts are used other than metal. The whole bike is built in a tight package which concentrates of mass of center ,this aids the bike to change direction quickly. The quality build on Duke 200 is very high with attention on detail even on smallest parts. This is the first bike manufactured in India,this design improves the rigidity and reduces the weight of the bike. 

The 199cc single cylinder engine draws some KTM's experience in building world class engine. The liquid cooled engine features a short stroke. The DUKE packs up with a power output of 2BHP and 19.2NM of torque @800Rpm. The exhaust system is positioned underneath the centre of bike. The short length of exhaust improves torque at low Rpm and helps in lowering the central gravity.The bike is equipped with 280mm, four pistol calliper disk brake in front and 230mm disk with single piston calliper in rear. The combination is more than efficient in bringing the DUKE halt from any speed. 

The front suspension is with inverted telescopic fork. The system reduces the mass and offers better cornering perfomance compared to standard.It has a stiff setup which improves the ability while breaking and cornering but translates in to a hard drive. The rear suspension on the bike comprises adjustable mono shock and aluminium alloy swing around. The 200 comes with a fully equipped multiple functional digital display,overall it is a compact motorcycle with high ground clearence. The posture is comfortable for most of the raiders as it doesn't apply weight on wrists. The pillion seat is relatively small in size and is not comfortable for long ride. The bike is great to ride in city. The compact dimension and lively chassis make easy to go through traffic. The DUKE can accelerate quickly and also run as slow as 35Kmpl in 6th gear. The stiff chassis gives good stability while driving on highway. The standard MRF tires offer a good grip leading the bike stability and cornering.

The brakes and the "Pirelli Corsa" tires gives an excellent grip on the road and also helps in reducing the stopping distance than usual.The twin bug eyed head lamp gives the bike a fabulous look from the front.The mastered switches were fitted perfectly and the mirrors provide a clear vision on your back.

      In an Ex-showroom Delhi, the cost of the street triple is around Rs.7,50,000 and is totally worthy. The street triple 675 can be one of the best sport bikes and any one can ride it with passion.

              The seat is a bit down and well cushioned for an comfortable cruise even at high speed. The ground clearence of the Street 750 is about 145mm and the length of the bike will be around 2225mm. Coming to the rear view mirrors it offers an clear view but not the best.

     The Harley were manufactured by hand and some of the works done by the machines. The speedometer  and the other indications which gives an clear information. The passenger seat seems to be a little risky and low safety but I'm sure the passenger will enjoy the ride.
